Diversified Spinal Adjustment
This technique is the form of high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that is traditionally associated with chiropractic manual adjustments. For this method, chiropractors apply a short (low-amplitude), quick (high-velocity) thrust over restricted joints (one at a time) with the goal of restoring normal range of motion in the joint. The patient’s body is positioned in specific ways to optimize the adjustment of the spine.
An activator adjustment is an alternative to manual manipulation. It is an mechanical force manual assisted instrument used to treat spinal subluxations.
Active Release Technique (ART)
Active Release Technique is a noninvasive system for treating soft tissue injuries that relies upon targeted, movement based massage techniques to achieve results. Soft tissue injuries are frequently reoccurring injuries and they are most often caused by overuse or repetitive activities.
Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
This is a method of evaluation and treatment that monitors fundamental movement. From the information gather, the user can develop corrective exercise programs based on individual movement patterns. It is equally effective in fitness and sports conditioning because it targets the “weak link in movement”.
The Graston Technique incorporates a patented form of instrument- assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function, separates and breaks down collagen cross-links, and splays and stretches connection tissue cross-links. It can increase the rate of blood flow to an area, increase cellular activity in the region and increase histamine response secondary to mast cell activity.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
This form of treatment is administered for pain relief and the re-education of muscles.
Kinesio Tape/ Rock Tape
A method of taping to give support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. They are forms of taping to enhance the body’s own natural healing process.
Cold Laser (LLLT)
Cold laser is a painless, sterile, non-invasive, drug free treatment which is used to treat a variety of pain syndromes, injuries, fractures, neurological conditions and pathologies. Around the world, laser therapy is rapidly becoming a medical therapy that can heal wounds and fractures up to 60% faster and also reduce the cost of treatment for many conditions.
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a more advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contraction of the muscle group being targeted. PNF stretching was originally developed as a form of rehabilitation, and to that effect it is very effective.
This is a form of treatment in which the patient lies on a specialized table that gently stretches the spine. This allows the chiropractor to pinpoint trouble spots while flexing the spinal column. The end result is that the chiropractor can gently move the disc away from an affected nerve, which can alleviate inflammation and pain.
Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. It can be performed manually or mechanically. Spinal traction is used to treat herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions.
